What goes together better than
Christmas and children? This group of
pre-schoolers enjoyed a field trip to our farm. They sat in Santa's
sleigh
and they posed with "Zoie", our very first reindeer. As a group, they
picked out a Christmas tree to decorate their classroom. The amount of
laughter heard on our farm that day was truly a joyous and beautiful
noise. |

What goes better with FinnFest
than reindeer? I don't know who enjoyed the parade more, our reindeer,
the crowd, or ourselves! We also set up a traditional Sami encampment
after the parade, and displayed our reindeer
for the visitors. What a wonderful, interactive, and educational
experience for all involved. |

"Caroway" born 4-21-02 on our
farm. She has quickly become a true member of our family. She is inquisitive
and fun, and she loves to be with people! |

One of Santa's newest helpers,
here is another view of Caroway, born 4-21-02 on our farm. |

"Reindeer can and do become a part
of the family. From our family to yours, have a wonderful and joyous
holiday season. The Juneau family." |

And here is Trygve with his velvet
nearly rubbed off and hanging, mid-August 2002. |

Trygve, our herd sire. His antlers
are just beginning to grow out here in June 2002. He was born on May 1,
1997. He loves people, and showing off his magnificent antlers. What's
even more impressive is his gentle nature.
He is a true favorite on our farm. |

Another picture of Trygve with his
antlers nearly done growing. Early August 2002. |

A reindeer mom with her hours old
baby. This is Tinsel, who is already nine years old, with her baby,
Caroway this spring. Tinsel still sports her winter coat and antlers in
April of this year. Reindeer moms will usually keep their antlers until
after they have their babies in the spring. |

Here is "Kenai" the other baby
reindeer bornon our farm. He was born on April 19, 2002. He had an
antler injury early in the summer. What is great about reindeer is that
they shed their antlers each year, and grow new
ones the following year. With Trygve for a father, one can only imagine
how impresive Kenai will look once he has developed his full size and
antler development. |
